Human Development and Family Sciences
New school year, new department name, new programs and new faculty!
The 2017-2018 school year has begun and there are lots of new initiatives, names and people in the HDFS department!
- As of July 1, the department name changed slightly to Human Development and Family Sciences, in accordance to trends in the international field of study and the transformation of the research being done in HDFS at UD by our faculty and students.
- In August, we welcomed two new faculty members to the department, Dr. Roderick Carey and Dr. Bridgette Johnson.
- We are welcoming the first class of our new undergraduate program in Human Relations Administration.
- The Laboratory Preschool has begun a Nature Preschool class on the UD Children’s Campus that is focused on outdoor learning. The Lab School has been recognized for other unique initiatives including the Mindfulness Camp where students learn about their brain and its capabilities.
This year, we will also be continuing our Global Research Series as we build other new initiatives. Keep up to date by checking our website, and our newsletter, the HDFS Catalyst.
